McDonald's Mushroom Swiss Angus Burger
8/30/2009
I'm not one to publically denounce food - I LOVE food - but holy shit, this sandwich. Now I love Hardee's, and this is an obvious ploy to bite into their "quality meat" marketshare. Yeah, good luck with that guys.
I picked up the mushroom swiss incarnation (which is my favorite thing from Hardee's). It definitely had mushrooms - overpoweringly salty - and the meat was more decent than a regular burger, but there was something else. The sandwich I was given had gobs of stuff on top - it was a solid white substance, somewhere between mayonnaise and cream cheese in consistency - with a slight sour taste (like very weak sour cream). My problem is that this shit was all over the place. I am not kidding when I say there was more of this stuff by mass than there was meat. What is this doing here? And why so god damned much? It definitely wasn't mayo - or at least not good mayo. The texture literally made me feel ill, and I could still taste it after scraping off a huge mound of it. Fucking hell, this is the worst thing I've ever eaten - and I used to eat at Hardee's before Carl's Jr. merged with them.
